We have been asked to be part of a music mission trip to Budapest, Hungary in May 2019, playing with a jazz big band. We're very excited for the opportunity to share hope and love through music behind the former Soviet "iron curtain". We have also added another week to our trip travel to southern Norway and do the same thing there. We need your help! Would you consider partnering with us through prayer and/or a tax-deductible financial donation?
We're going on this trip to share the hope and love of Jesus with the neglected and disenfranchised in society through music and ministering. Public performances by American musicians are a fantastic way to gain attention and put smiles on faces. But more importantly, they present opportunities to strike up conversations, make friends, minister to those in need, and connect them with local organizations and ministries that can help them.
This leg of the trip is being organized in partnership with Global Missions Project, a non-profit music missions organization. We will be playing a number of public concerts with the Metro Big Band, a 20-piece jazz band from the Nashville metro area, conducted by Camp Kirkland. Deb will be the lead vocalist and Rob will be playing guitar in the rhythm section. While in Budapest we will work with local organizations to reach students at their schools, put on public performances and music workshops, and help strengthen and bless local church congregations.

We are leaving the jazz band behind as we head to southern Norway for the 2nd half of our trip. We're organizing this leg of the journey ourselves, partnering with friends and contacts we have in the area. We'll be part of a series of public events focused on finding Christ-centered recovery from hurts, habits, and addictions. Our adult daughters Maggie and Sami will join us, performing music and assisting with the logistical needs of the tour. Deb will also be sharing her personal testimony. Because of our long history with the ministry Celebrate Recovery we're very excited to be a part of these events! We'll post our Norway itinerary once we have it.
There are two equally-important ways we could use your help with this trip—praying for it and paying for it. Whether it's through prayer or donations (or both) we would love to have you partner with us on this project and we'd be so grateful for your support. We'll soon be setting up a Facebook page for the trip so we can post pics, updates, and videos as we prepare for and carry out the mission trip.
Please see below for specific ways you can partner with us on this trip. Thank you so much for considering it!
Prayer is as important as funds! Please join us as we pray for these things:
If you're willing to pray for this mission trip, please click the button below and we'll add you to our Budapest Mission Trip Email List. You'll receive a monthly email from us with updates on the trip and our specific prayer needs as we move forward. Thank you!
Together Deb & I need to raise $9,450 to cover the cost of airfare, meals, accommodations, insurance, ground transportation and materials for this entire trip. We're responsible for raising 100% of our financial support.
Would you consider investing along with us in this mission trip? Any amount would help and all donations are tax-deductible.
